Personal Food & Fitness Guidelines

  1. Restrictive dieting is not a long-term solution.
  2. Do not make decisions about what to eat based on short-term goals.
  3. Skipping one meal usually means I will eat more than double the next meal.
  4. Lifting weights doesn’t make me scary big, no matter how hard I try.
  5. Abs are made in the kitchen. 
  6. Well-timed rest days make me stronger.
  7. If I truly allow myself to have that Oreo anytime I want, I am actually less inclined to eat it now (and even later).
  8. Hunger is the best spice. Don’t feel like I have to fill up on a lot now just so I’m not hungry later. Instead, delay the satisfaction (especially if I know the next meal will be even yummier).
  9. Rice and bread keep me regular; too much protein causes clogs.
  10. Each person has different fitness goals. I should not impose my own goals on others.
