Maple-Pecan-Cinnamon Sticky Buns

Get ready for the most decadent, mouth-watering, guilt-inducing dessert of the holiday season! These maple-pecan-cinnamon sticky buns are pillowy, crunchy, and chewy in every bite. Each bun is around 300 calories, which means you could totally eat two in place of a normal meal and not even have to run an extra mile at the gym.

Seriously though, you must make these. This was my first time making cinnamon rolls because I always assumed they would be too much trouble. But with a stand mixer, this recipe is incredibly easy. The hardest part is waiting 25 minutes while the cinnamon sugar scent wafts through your kitchen and into every other room in the house, and all you want to do is stuff your face with buns. The reward is worth the wait. Your first bite into the soft, warm bun will be your first taste of heaven. All your troubles will disappear with this first bite. If you have the self-control to stop eating and share with others, your popularity will grow immensely and soon you'll be the coolest kid on the block! Basically, these buns will change your life.

The original recipe is from King Arthur Flour. I made only two modifications:

  • Used bourbon instead of rum in the glaze, only because that's the only hard liquor I have.
  • Reduced the sugar and brown sugar by 25%, because I'm so healthy (ha ha).
